Health Tip: Warm Lemon Water
Warm lemon water is a great way to detox your liver every single morning. This isn’t lemonade, so don’t add sugar or anything else. Just purified water and a healthy dose of fresh lemon juice. Some experts, like author A.F. Beddoe who wrote the book Biological Ionization as Applied to Human Nutrition, also believe that the liver produces more enzymes in response to water with lemon than to any other food.

Health Tip:  
Make your own healthy, non processed gingerale

1 1/2 cups chopped peeled ginger (7 ounces)
2 cups water
3/4 cup sugar (or 1 cup agave nectar)
About 1 quart chilled seltzer or club soda
About 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (fresh mint is an option)
     Cook ginger in water in a small saucepan at a low simmer, partially covered, 45 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep, covered, 20 minutes. 
    Strain mixture through a sieve into a bowl, pressing on ginger and then discard. Return liquid to saucepan and add sugar and a pinch of salt, then heat over medium heat, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Chill syrup in a covered jar until cold. 

Assemble drinks:
Mix ginger syrup with seltzer and lime juice (start with 1/4 cup syrup and 1 1/2 teaspoons lime juice per 3/4 cup seltzer, then adjust to taste).

Refreshing, super healthy summer drink.
Ginger-Berry Limeade

Serves 2
2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
½ lime, juiced
16 ounces seltzer
½ cup frozen berries (or fresh)
Cheese cloth or nut milk bag
1. Peel and grate ginger. Place grated ginger in cheese cloth or nut milk bag. Squeeze the ginger juice into each glass.
2. Cut lime in half. Squeeze lime juice into each glass. Fill each glass with seltzer and add frozen berries. Enjoy!
