Joanne Guimond ~ 5/27/38 - 9/24/13

She loved all things beautiful; beautiful home, flowers, kind words, appreciation, loyalty, a good laugh. I think appreciation most of all. She would melt when someone expressed appreciation for any one of the multitude of kindnesses she bestowed upon friends and loved ones. I don't think she knew how beautiful she was, so appreciation was a warming reminder.

We shared a common fussiness about the weather. We like perfect days. When she would answer the phone, it was one of the first things we would agree upon; too cold, too humid, too hot, then on the rare occasion "Isn't it beautiful out Ang?"

I am a health food, natural health care advocate. When we would discuss what's good, what's bad, we would laugh at how something good for you today is bad for you tomorrow and she would wisely wrap up the discussion with "All things in moderation."

"Ang, would you like coffee?" "Can I get you anything to eat?" "Is everything going alright?" "Is  there anything I can do for you?" "Thank you for the beautiful card." - Oh how she loved cards. Forget the gift, forget the call, but don't forget the card. It was a sign of appreciation. I will take that with me ~ show the ones you love appreciation.

HEALTH TIP:  Used on the hair, apple cider vinegar can smooth the cuticle, making your hair appear smoother and shinier. It does this by balancing pH levels unlike commercial shampoos that strip the hair and leave it looking rough, dry or dull. It also removes buildup and can help with dandruff and an itchy scalp. Simply use ACV as a rinse. Dilute it with equal parts water and dump over your head while in the shower. Give it a moment to sink in before rinsing. ~ Natural Society
