Quotes and health tip of the day... 10/31/13

It is the only thing.
     ~ Albert Schweitzer

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.
     ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Health Tip: Oddest phenomenon but SO COOL! – If you freeze bananas and then put them in a food processor until they become smooth, as in the consistency of soft serve ice-cream, you will be astounded at how much it tastes EXACTLY like soft serve ice-cream. We did it two nights ago. I couldn’t believe that we were ENJOYING a complete guiltless “ice-cream” dessert.

Quotes and Health Tip of the Day... 10/30/13

“People generally see what they look for,
and hear what they listen for.”
     ~ Harper Lee

“… all we meet is part of ourselves.”
     ~ Neville Goodard

“By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
and third by experience, which is the bitterest.”
     ~  Confucius

Health Tip: To relieve sore, tight, tense or painful muscles: Soak in a hot bath with a 2 kg bag of Epsom salts from a minimum of twenty minutes. This releases the buildup of lactic acid and helps the muscles relax and repair. During your bath drink water and place a cold towel around your neck. ~ Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors

Begin With a Change of Mood

When we are certain of the relationship
of mood to circumstance in our lives,
we welcome what befalls us.

We know that all we meet is part of ourselves.
In the creation of a new life we must begin
at the beginning, with a change of mood.

Every high mood of man is the opening
of the door to a higher level for him.
Let us mold our lives with high moods,
or a community of high moods.

Quotes and health tip of the day... 10/29/13

“Don't think or judge, just listen.”
     ~ Sarah Dessen

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak;
courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
     ~ Winston Churchill

There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long,
"I feel this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong."
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wise man can decide
What's right for you--just listen to
The voice that speaks inside.”
    ~  Shel Silverstein

Health Tip:  Worth a try, for Migraine: feet in hot water, cold pack on the back of your neck. It draws the blood to your feet.

When we expect the best
we can always know
what's going to happen next:
We won’t be alone. We will be helped.
And there will be miracles.

The Secret Life of the Brain - Mind Illusions

The process of seeing begins with the presence of light, an image being formed on the retina, and an impulse transmitted to the brain, but there are many other factors that play a part in how we perceive visually. Our perceptions are influenced by our past experiences, imagination, and associations.  ~www.pbs.org
