All Experiences Serve

As humans, we appear to be incapable of true knowledge without first experiencing it, therefore all experiences serve as a point of reference and knowledge used to make new choices.

As I see it, experiences follow a pattern from lower energies to higher energies. For example, experiences riddled with hate, anger, and fear seem to come first in the evolution of a soul, whereby those imbued with joy, compassion and love come towards the end of the evolution of a soul.

If this observation is true, we clearly have no justification for judging another's experience. We do, however, have justification for supporting and easing the journey of our fellow humans.

"Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change."

Quotes and health tip of the day... 1/31/14

You know that feeling of being
unusually happy for no
apparent reason?
That is your heart feeling your future.

Why ever look back when all kinds
of unforeseen events wait lurking
to surprise you and make you glad
you're alive to see?
     ~adapted, Jack Kerouac

“Be in love with your life, every detail of it.”
     ~Jack Kerouac

Health Tip:
“The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” ~ Voltaire

Quotes and health tip of the day... 1/30/14

“We cannot live only for ourselves.
A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men;
and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads,
our actions run as causes,
and they come back to us as effects.”
     ~Herman Melville

One of the most spiritual things you can do
is embrace your humanity.
Connect with those around you today.
Say "I love you", "I'm sorry", "I appreciate you",
"I'm proud of you"...whatever you're feeling.
Send random texts, write a cute note,
embrace your truth and share it...
cause a smile today for someone else...
and give plenty of hugs.”
     ~ Steve Maraboli

Health Tip: "Our food should be our medicine and our medicine should be our food." ~ Hippocrates

Quotes and health tip of the day... 1/29/14

Take a deep breath and tell us
your deepest, darkest secret,
so we can wipe our brow and know
that we're not alone.
     ~ Alan Watts

When you wish to control situations
or people (including yourself),
it’s simply a sign of fear or distrust.
     ~ Doreen Virtue

This is the real secret of life --
to be completely engaged with what
you are doing in the here and now.
And instead of calling it work,
realize it is play.
     ~ Alan Watts

Health Tip: Happiness! Happiness is the number one ingredient that makes you healthy; caring for the mind, caring for the heart, caring for the soul. When symptoms start popping up, ask yourself, "What do I need to change in my life?" Most often, it's simply changing your thoughts.

Quotes and health tip of the day... 1/28/14

We "reap what we sow".
The outside is malleable.
Work the mind.

Miles Davis said don't play what's already there -
it's the spaces that let the music breathe -
same with the mind - let things be.
     ~ Stephen Russell

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
     ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Health Tip: The rice experiment is another famous Emoto demonstration of the power of negative thinking (and conversely, the power of positive thinking.) Dr Emoto placed portions of cooked rice into two containers. On one container he wrote “thank you” and on the other “you fool”. He then instructed school children to say the labels on the jars out loud everyday when they passed them by. After 30 days, the rice in the container with positive thoughts had barely changed, while the other was moldy and rotten. ~ The Mind Unleashed

Quotes and health tip of the day... 1/27/14

Your expectations determine
what you see and experience.
If you anticipate problems,
that’s what you’ll focus on
and that’s what you’ll see.
     ~ Doreen Virtue

Quite often we are reluctant
to expect circumstances to change
because we are afraid of being disappointed.

If we believe in victory,
victory will believe in us.
     ~ Paulo Coelho

Health Tip: If your body is ailing, the first thing to do is to sit quietly, tune into the sensations in your body, and listen to the messages it sends. We innately know how to heal. We have given this power to the outside.

The Shocking Truth About Your Health

The shocking truth about your health is that yes, it matters that you exercise, it matters that you eat well, but what really matters is a combination of the things that make you happy; healthy relationships, a healthy work life, expressing yourself creatively, being spiritually connected, a healthy sex life, financial freedom, living in a healthy environment, and most importantly, a healthy mental state of mind.

Happiness! Happiness is the number one ingredient that makes you healthy; caring for the mind, caring for the heart, caring for the soul. When symptoms start popping up, ask yourself, "What do I need to change in my life?"
