Dancing Tidy In The Arms Of The Tao ~ Stephen Russell, The Barefoot Doctor

“Do you notice your approach to the day often comprises a sense of being at war and having to fight against perceived opposition as if the Tao's out to get you at every turn?

One thing we can say for sure about the Tao is that it works as a mirror that reflects back at you whatever you believe the Tao to be. So if you believe the Tao's out to get you it will behave that way.

But if you shift the belief so you see it as, say, your dance partner it will be that instead.

And while it then may still toss you around a fair bit according to the inevitable cyclic variegations of yin and yang (dark and light, contracted and expanded etc), it will be within the context of the dance hall – and lead you through a fun, celebratory jive, rather than a spell in the trenches…

…stand easy, hang loose, dance tidy, and the Tao will shower you with all the blessings you can handle, including getting you out of any tight spot you may be in in the most elegant and unexpected ways. May it be so.”

~ Stephen Russell, The Barefoot Doctor

♪ How to Love ♪

Love is the human life theme. Without it there would be no books, movies, songs. I imagine that the grand elusiveness of the perfect love is exactly why it is the most sought after.

Love and relationships are decidedly not easy. Yet we still write the books, movies and songs. We still dream of it regardless of how many times our hearts break. We seek the "how", to grasp the elusive.

♪ You had a lot of moments that didn't last forever - Now you in a corner tryna put it together - How to love, how to love... ♪ ~ Lil Wayne

The following is a beautiful place to start. It is an excerpt from Renee Picard's article published on Elephant Journal.

"How to Love"

"It’s important to Love fiercely…but not insanely.

Gently, but not passively.

To love without caring too much about outcomes, without tangling up in politics or labels, insecurities or reaction.

To be vulnerable but not so much that that openness turns to need and suffocates both parties with expectation.

To step back for air at times without turning away.

To honor each person’s space and need to be their (our) own person.

To admit when we are lonely, scared, ‘wrong’, sorry.

To regularly exercise trust, despite all risks and against all odds.

To learn, let go and forgive (ourselves) each day.

To be brave enough to choose joy wherever possible... "

Whoever shall succeed, you might keep it to yourselves, for surely the world's creativity would take a lethal hit :)

Come what may...

“I have always believed, and I still believe,
that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way
we can always give it meaning
and transform it into something of value.”
~ Hermann Hesse ~

The truth is, everything that happens to us is designed to show us how little knowledge we humanly have, but also how much power and knowledge we have when connected to our source.

When we take a really good look at our dreams, we see the reason we want them is to feel all the different wonderful feelings available to us; happy, secure, loved, intelligent, successful, beautiful, etc. We also think we know what will make us feel those things, but if you look back you will notice some things we thought would give us those feelings but didn't.

Best practice would be to stay in touch with our bodies for guidance and messages and to not judge the events that may, at first glance, seem not in line with our dreams.
