Living Meditation ~adapted, Peter Schaller

Living meditation doesn’t mean that we can’t also make time to sit quietly each day, mind swept clean. But, practicing "living in the moment" meditation in everything, no judgment, putting no past or future on it, will almost certainly add more color, flavor, music, peace, balance, focus and smiles to our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received.

Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling.

Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.

     ~ Henry Van Dyke

What seems insignificant when you have it,
is important when you need it.
     ~ Franz Grillparzer

We can only be said to be alive in those moments

Quotes of the day... 11/26/14

How we see other people
has an enormous impact on our self-perception.
     ~ Doreen Virtue

We should deal with the faults of others
as gently as with our own.
     ~ Chinese Proverb

Let's learn to be quiet enough to hear
the sound of the genuine within ourselves
so that we can hear it in others.

Quotes of the day... 11/25/14

Unfortunately when we put our happiness
on hold until we get that thing
we think will make us happy,
more than likely
we won’t be happy when we get it.
When our happiness is contingent upon something,
it will always be contingent upon something.

You're never going to get to any final place.
And so, we want to remind you to relax
and start having fun on the way.

"Self-discipline is a form of freedom. Freedom from laziness and lethargy, freedom from the expectations and demands of others, freedom from weakness and fear—and doubt."

~ H. A. Dorfman

"It can hardly be a matter for surprise that our race has not succeeded in solving any large part of its most difficult problems in the first millionth part of its existence. Perhaps life would be a duller affair if it had, for to many it is not knowledge but the quest for knowledge that gives the greater interest to thought - to travel hopefully is better than to arrive."

~ Sir James Hopwood Jeans (11 September 1877 – 16 September 1946) was a British physicist, astronomer and mathematician.

Quotes of the day... 11/24/14

Health is the natural condition.
When sickness occurs, it is a sign that
Nature has gone off course
because of a physical or mental imbalance.
The road to health and self love
for everyone is through moderation,
harmony, and a 'sound mind in a sound body'.
     ~ Jostein Gaarder

Everything you do to improve
your physical well-being
will have a positive impact
on how good you feel about yourself.
